Screwdriving technology for automotive and body construction
The body is a key element in car manufacturing. This construction has a substantial share in the passive safety of vehicles and is the supporting connection for almost all components. During manufacturing of a body, various components must be connected with each other safely, permanently and, potentially, in a detachable way.
The materials used in car and body manufacturing need to be continuously more lightweight, more robust and, preferably, more cost-effective. An enormous challenge for WEBER. While parts have been welded in the past, today automated screwdriving technology comes into play. The criteria are: high flexibility, uncompromising process reliability and zero error rate.
Manufacturers from Audi to Volkswagen rely on WEBER automatic screwdriving systems for their body assembly. WEBER has long become a technology driver in the industry and has developed appropriate screwdriving methods for modern materials and composites – for example, the flow drilling screwdriving system.
